Brow & Forehead Lift

Brow and forehead lifts are recommended to raise eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead. This creates a smoother and more youthful appearance.  In severe cases, this procedure is used to raise a sagging forehead and brow in order to improve one’s peripheral vision.  In these cases, the procedure may be deemed medically necessary and could be covered by your medical insurance.  We always recommend you contact your insurance to confirm your coverage. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries, most frequently blepharoplasty.

THE brow & forehead lift PROCEDURE

This procedure is typically completed in our surgery center under inhalational general anesthesia.  An incision is generally made across the top of the head from the front of one ear to the front of the other ear. The forehead and brows are elevated and excess skin is removed. The flap is then sutured in a more lifted position.  Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur, they should subside within a few weeks. Our surgeons will prescribe ice compresses and eye exercises to reduce swelling and regain mobility. You will be allowed to use eye cosmetics up to two weeks after surgery.
