Chin and Cheekbone Augmentation

Cheek augmentation using surgical implants can alter the underlying structure of the face, providing better balance to the facial features. These operations are often, but not always, performed in conjunction with orthognathic surgery to help balance the facial proportions. Chin augmentation (genioplasty) is often best achieved with manipulation of the jaw bone (mandible).  This technique provides a more dramatic correction than with the use of prosthetic implants for augmentation.

These procedures are typically done in our surgery center under general anesthesia.  All incisions are typically made inside the oral cavity.  Depending on the procedure, recovery is usually several days.
